Frogs in switches are very important, particularly within regard to track safety. Regular monitoring and servicing of the frog area is therefore mandatory. HMG captures the entire running surface geometry of switch frogs relative to a specific target profile as well as the run-out geometry of the frog nose.
The comprehensive measurement enables objective conclusions about the condition of the frog and its laytime. With the measuring data it is possible to document the quality of maintenance works such as contract welding, reprofiling or frog replacement etc.
Data is recorded continuously along a measuring distance of 1040 mm. During the measurement, all relevant geometric parameters are captured within a few seconds. The raw data are shown on the outdoor notebook “MPC” and can be evaluated on site with the “HMGcatcher” software.
